TE WAI O MU

MU Journey - Aotearoa New Zealand

March 18-29th, 2010

Today a number of people are finding the urge to travel to Aotearoa New Zealand.  Something deep within calls them to come to this island continent.  Synergies occur to ignite the message that is coded in their being that it is time for them to come.  When people are so called it is because they have been beckoned by

Te Wai o MU

The Waters of MU
The Song of MU
The Spirit of MU
Wai means water, song, spirit

When they arrive their heart fills with love as they touch the land and breathe the air. Some stream tears and know not why. They all feel they have come home.  And indeed they have for they are the descendants of the first ancestors who walked this land.

Aotearoa New Zealand is part of
the once ancient civilization of MU
The Cradle of Humanity

Our role as keepers of the Pou-na-MU the Pillar of Light that radiates from MU and is held within the heartstone of this land, is to welcome home the Manu-hiri the “Bird”.  You are the ancestors returned.  Over the centuries we have remembered this is our role as we to this day, continue to welcome through the ancient ceremony called Pohiri (or Powhiri).

Itinerary

Thursday 18th March
Everyone arrive by this day in time for a 7pm Orientation and Dinner where we prepare for  “Nga wa o MUa – The Time of MU”.

Accommodation: Retreat Centre

Friday 19th  & Saturday 20th March
We awaken early to begin our sacred journey. Travelling North we call into MUriwai beach for the initiation ceremony for our journey. Next we call into the Dargaville MUseum where a very special woman awaits us.  She lies encased in glass and invites us to remember and awaken to our true heritage.

We then travel on to the ancient forest to stand in the presence of the great ones. It is said that artifacts of a now forgotten world lie hidden beneath the undergrowth of this magnificent light realm.  On arrival we quiet the human voice and allow the sounds of the forest to ignite further our light bodies for we will be surrounded by great light beings.  The name for tree is ra-kau  which means flowing light.  The name for leaf is ra-u which means nurturing, sustaining light. On a windy day you can hear the sound of the ocean in the rustling of the leaves and the giant Kauri tree becomes a metaphor for the great White Whale.

We stay within the Hokianga area.

Accommodation: Marae or Motel

Sunday 21st March
We leave very early to travel to the top of the North Island where the two oceans meet – the Tasman and Pacific Oceans.  It is here at  ‘Te Rerenga Wairua’ where ‘The Spirit Soars.’  A perfect place for an activation ceremony.  We will formally ask permission of the guardians.

Accommodation: Marae

Monday 22nd March
We travel to Paihia in the Bay of Islands a very beautiful location,  where ancient histories and stories will be shared with you as we paddle together aboard a 50 ft Waka Taua on the tidal estuaries of the Waitangi River.
With the splendour of panoramic views, vibrant and stunning colours from the native forest stretching the length of the river banks and beyond, the first leg of our voyage culminates with our arrival in the pool of the sacred and spiritual Haruru waterfalls. The magic of this place is brought to life by the skilful oratory of our story tellers who accompany you.

Accommodation: Marae or Motel

Tuesday 23rd March
Return to Auckland afternoon – Rest

Accommodation: Auckland Motel

Wednesday 24th March

Option 1 (if Mike is available)
Leave Auckland and travel south to the home of ‘The Waterman’ - Mike O’Donnell. A water carrier and protector of ancient times he reads the landscape and feels the emotions of the land surrounding his home. His body is a barometer for the health of the local environment which suffers with the changes that occur. He takes great pains to heal the land and streams through native re-planting along the stream banks. In return the plants drop their leaves and flowers into the streams throughout the year creating a ‘medicine’ with which to cure more polluted water further down river.

Accommodation: Okoroire Motel or Tapapa Marae

Option 2 (if appropriate)
There is a special Lemurian site at Kawhia that has just come to notice.  Awaiting information at the time of writing this.

Accommodation: Kawhia Motel

Thursday 25th March
Today we enter the realm of MU Torere as we visit ancient sites that reflect the symbol of the 8 pointed star in their design and or layout - a symbol of the Great Central Sun.  MU Torere is described as a “game similar to draughts” but it is much more.  It is a process of divination that leads to the release of a heavenly fragrance.  Two sacred sites we visit today and tomorrow speak of this fragrance.  Miringa Te Kakara – The Cascading Fragrance is the first site. Here we learn of a crosshouse that reflected the sacred geometry that includes the 8 pointed star and the corresponding points in the galaxy.

Accommodation:  Miringa Te Kakara

Friday 26th March
After breakfast we travel to the village at OhineMUtu where the story of Hine Te Kakara - The Fragrant Maid is remembered and see what opens up to us.
We then journey to the shores of lake Tarawera where stands a great grandmother mountain.  There we will be embraced by David and Karen Walmsley and family who express in their hospitality the heartstone energy of our precious Pou-na-MU that radiates the Pillar of Light from MU”.
Pounamu Lodge is named after the sacred greenstone of the  Maori people of New Zealand. Pounamu is revered for its beauty and regarded with respect and pride. We apply these same principles when looking after our guests. We call it “Manaakitanga” – the ultimate in hosting and care for people.

Accommodation: Pounamu Lodge

Saturday 27th March (to be confirmed – alternative is available)
Today we travel to Whakatane and meet with Te Kaha Pounamu.  His name Pou-na-MU continues the theme of our precious greenstone. Te Kaha is a keeper of the Pou-na-MU carving arts. His sculptures are included in collections in the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and New Zealand.

We may also be blessed to have time with Moko the Dolphin
'Moko' is a male Bottlenose dolphin thats been visiting New Zealand's sunniest coastline - Whakatane, since early January.  Moko has been seen at all the popular spots around Whakatane. He has been at Ohope Beach where he joined in with the surfers at West End, then he had a look at New Zealand's prettiest bay - Otarawairere. Later that day he took a jaunt up the Whakatane River and swum with some of the local kids.

Moko loves company and  will happily play for hours with swimmers, surfers and kayakers.

Whakatane is also the home of Mou-Tohora Whale Island. From November to April Whales are prolific in this region. Whakatane is within the tribal homelands of Grandmother Ruth Makuini Tai is our principal guide throughout this journey.

Whale watch excursions are available from $85 to $140 per person. The group or individuals may wish to participate. Note: cost is not included in the overall tour cost.

We have now reached the time of Te MU-TU-NGA.  It is both a completion and also a time to Stand in the Resting Breath of MU. It is a place of deep reflection about where we have been, to where we have come, to where we are going.  We began with deep ceremony across the ocean and a journey to the ‘whale of the forest.’  We complete with deep ceremony across the ocean and communication with the ‘whales of the ocean.
